So... there’s a company called !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , an boutique Italian motorcycle builder. They’re kind of like Lotus— in that they build amazing machines, but not motors. So they source motors from whomever depending on the bike... Usually Bimota (being Italian) uses Ducati motors... (although bmw’s 1000cc motor’s been making into a few of their bikes lately...)

But Bimota makes the radical !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! as well as a host of dope Superbikes and gorgeous Naked’s.... But they also make a dirt bike... But not just any dirt bike.. Imagine 370lbs, 95 Horsepower air-cooled Duc motor, the finest suspension money can buy, and also a swing arm that almost belongs in an art gallery as much as it does on a motorbike....

Alright, I’m going to go look under the couch cushions in hopes of finding $30,000.... cuz I want need a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! :

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

And thank goodness there’s at least one person willing to shell out that kind of money and still be willing to get it dirty......

They’re kind of like Lotus— in that they build amazing machines, but not motors.

Well... A little history on Bimota then! Just like Lotus they did try to built their own engines. So came the V-Due.

Kinja'd!!!

A highly complicated, fuel injected two stroke V-twin. With so many flaws Bimota finally gave up after creating about 300 units (after 150 they ditched the fuel injection in 2001).

There’s not many manufacturers Bimota didn’t use engines from. The usual suspects as Ducati, Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha. One might even surprise you as they resourced engine from... Harley Davidson! Well, they were actually Aermachi engines but as HD owned Aermachi they were simply called Bimota HDB1 to HDB3 (Harley Davidson Bimota).

Most Bimotas were fitted with Ducati and Yamaha engines.
